Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at removing excess skin and fatty tissue of the abdomen, strengthening the muscular structure and restoring the aesthetic shape of the front abdominal wall.
The procedure is particularly effective after pregnancy, weight loss, or aging/genetically lax skin and to restore the appearance of the abdomen. During the consultation, the surgeon evaluates the condition of each patient individually and determines what scale of intervention is appropriate - full abdominoplasty, mini abdominoplasty or abdominoplasty in combination with liposuction.
Details of the procedure
Duration: On average 2.5 - 4 hours, depending on the complexity and scale of the intervention.
Anesthesia: General anesthesia.
Rehabilitation: Swelling, pain and limitation of movement are expected in the first days. Drains are often used for several days, and a special compression garment must be worn for 4-6 weeks.
The patient must make several post-operative visits to the clinic to remove the stitches and observe the rehabilitation process.
Result: Noticeable improvement can be seen in the first days, but it is recommended to evaluate the final result at least 3-6 months after the swelling subsides.
